"The Indianapolis Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity developed the Spiritual Outreach Committee (SOC) approximately 3 years ago.
 
Proverbs 27:17 is the impetus for our mission statement” Just as iron sharpens iron and so one fraternity brother sharpens another by promoting the spiritual, social, intellectual and moral welfare of the fraternity’s members”
 
The SOC serves the chapter by supporting a monthly Bible study, visiting ill and shut in Brothers, and sponsoring a yearly Spiritual Retreat.
 
This year's retreat is entitled: REAL MEN ON A REAL MISSION. The keynote speaker is Brother Pastor Oscar Banks. The date of the retreat is Saturday August 14, 2010. It is open to men age 16 and older, Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi and the general male community. It will be held at Tindley School from 8am until approximately 2pm. Continental  breakfast and lunch will be served. The cost is $5.00.
 
Part of the collected proceeds will be donated to the Wheeler Mission which is a spiritually based homeless shelter for men located near downtown Indianapolis."
