Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series Announces Members of Class XXXIII
Bart Peterson to serve as Moderator

INDIANAPOLIS— Twenty-five young executives have been selected to participate in Class XXXIII of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series (SKL). Each year, 25 emerging young leaders are selected from a pool of applicants to participate in this highly-competitive program that aims to expand the ranks of community leadership by providing class members with the knowledge and incentive to confront the needs of central Indiana.

Class members were selected on the basis of significant community involvement and professional achievement, demonstrated interest in community issues, a record of participation and achievement in voluntary community activities, and willingness to expand their leadership within the community.

“We congratulate these 25 young executives on being selected to participate in SKL. This program provides an excellent opportunity for these rising stars to focus their talents for improving our community for many years to come,” said Roland M. Dorson, Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce president and a graduate of SKL Class XIX. “We have come to expect SKL alumni to be highly involved in addressing issues and providing significant community leadership throughout their careers.”

The moderator for Class XXXIII will be Bart Peterson, former Mayor of Indianapolis. "I'm a big fan of the SKL program and I am enthusiastic about being invited to serve as the moderator for the next class,” Peterson said.  “I'm looking forward to working with these 25 emerging leaders as they work to increase their knowledge of our community's needs and issues."

Class XXXIII will begin meeting in September and continue through next June, interacting with local leaders, professional experts and community decision makers to discuss issues ranging from quality of life to education to economic development and more.

About the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series: Formed in 1976, SKL informs and motivates emerging leaders and raises their awareness of community issues and sense of community trusteeship through seminars, tours, reading and interaction with experts, leaders and decision makers. The Series is named in honor of Stanley K. Lacy, an Indianapolis banker and active participant in civic projects, who died in a tragic automobile accident in 1973 at the age of 27.
