Guide Right is a National Service Program for the educational and occupational guidance of our youth.  Locally, the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter strives to reach boys and young men across the K-12 spectrum.  Members are constantly encouraged to come out to work with students and offer positive words of encouragement.  Additionally, members provide assistance to the schools and teachers where possible. 

Currently, the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter oversees its "Dreamer Project" at two area elementary schools: Elder Watson Diggs Elementary School (#42) and Julian Coleman Academy (#110).  The relationship with Diggs Elementary School began in Fall 2004.  Coleman Academy was incorporated into the program in Fall 2007. 

The "Dreamer Project" consist of the following components:

The School Supplies Donation was designed to provide the students with the necessary supplies to begin the school year.  Donations are made twice a year - once at the beginning of the school year and the other at the beginning of the spring semester.   

The Breakfast with Santa consisted of a Christmas program partnership between the PTA of Elder Watson Diggs Elementary school, the staff of the school and the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter . 

The Mentoring Program consists of matching students with brothers whose profession matches their career goals.  During visits, the brothers are able to answer questions from the kids about what they do on the job and how much education is required.

The Speakers Bureau consists of Brothers who visit each school and lead discussions on various topics.  The focus of the program is to provide a positive male image to the students and allow the students to see professional African American men.  The meetings occur two times per month at both schools.
